Therapeutics Goods Administration

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is a unit of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The TGA carries out a range of assessment and monitoring activities to ensure therapeutic goods available in Australia are of an acceptable standard with the aim of ensuring that the Australian community has access, within a reasonable time, to therapeutic advances.

TGA activities include managing and coordinating, on a cost recovery basis, the TGA's international activities, particularly in relation to advisory and training services for regulatory matters. TGA integrates it's activities with similar projects initiated by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), and coordinate TGA's commitment to harmonise therapeutics regulation with New Zealand.
